Delivery driver injured as van stolen in Otford

Witnesses are being sought by officers investigating the theft of a van in Otford which left a parcel delivery driver suffering injuries.

At around 11.15am on Tuesday 13 August 2019 the victim had parked his white Ford Transit van in the vicinity of Pilgrims Way West.

As he was at the door of a property he heard someone starting the engine to the vehicle.

He ran to the driver’s side and attempted to cling onto a door. It is then alleged that the victim, aged in his 60s, was dragged for around 200 metres as the van was driven from the scene, before he fell into the side of the road.

The man was taken by ambulance to hospital and is not believed to have suffered any serious injuries.

An investigation is ongoing and the van was later recovered by officers in the Borough Green area.
