Elderly man assaulted during burglary in Broadstairs

Kent Police is appealing for information after an elderly man was reportedly assaulted at his home in Thanet.
The incident happened in Swinburne Avenue, Broadstairs, between 1pm and 2pm on Friday 6 September 2019.
The victim, who is in his 70s, opened his front door to two men who are reported to have forced their way into the property before assaulting the man and stealing items of jewellery from within.
Both suspects are believed to have had their faces covered.
The victim suffered cuts and bruises in the incident and was taken to a local hospital for treatment.
